eeCard for Expression Engine
Features
Your site’s users select a card from a gallery of designs, add a message and send to a friend.
Cards are stored as standard weblog content within ExpressionEngine, so can easily be maintained by site owners.
The user interface is slick and intuitive, using jQuery to open a composition window via a modal dialog.
Email is handed using PHPMailer, so eeCards works even if your host has disabled PHP’s mail(). You can use your ISP’s SMTP server if need be.
An admin-only stats screen that lets you see stuff like who sent what to whom, and when cards were read. It also lets you download stats in CSV format for further editing in Excel.
Notes
We’re making this release available under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license.
At this point there are a few rough edges to the installation process: for example you’ll need to manually create an additional database table (the SQL to do this is provided, however) and modify a couple of config files with your own settings in order to get started.
That said, it’s all laid out in the step-by-step Read Me file included with this release, and you can use the comments on this page to post any queries you might have (as well as to post URLs of sites you’ve implemented eeCard on!)
